Make your payments to Popular from Mi Banco

Mi Banco provides you the convenience of paying your Popular credit products using a deposit account from another institution, without visiting a branch or calling TeleBanco Popular®.

Following are the answers to the most frequently asked questions.

How do I add to Mi Banco an account from another institution?

  1. Access. Mi Banco Online (web version).
  2. In the menu (on the left side), under the “Accounts” section, select “Add Other Bank Accounts”.
  3. Fill in the requested information:
    • Route and transit number of the financial institution from which the funds come (9 digits).
    • Account number from which the funds will be paid.
  4. To confirm your account, we will send two deposits (cents) to the account in the other institution.
  5. Once you receive these funds (within 2 and 5 business days), access Mi Banco Online (web version) and press the yellow banner that will appear at the beginning of the session.
  6. Confirm the funds.
  7. Ready! You can now begin to enjoy the convenience of making payments from Mi Banco to your Popular credit products with your account from another bank.

If you have a Popular credit card, you may pay it and other Popular credit products (personal loan, auto loan, auto lease or mortgage loan) through Mi Banco Mobile once you complete the process. If you don’t have a Popular credit card, but have a personal loan, auto loan, auto lease or mortgage loan, you must use Mi Banco Online (web version).

How do I register my Popular credit products and make my payments?

  • If you only have an auto loan, lease and/or mortgage loan, in Mi Banco Online (web version) you will see the credit product automatically in the “Payments” section under “Make Payments”.
  • If you have a personal loan, you must register it in the “Payments” section under “Add Payees” from Mi Banco Online or “Select a Payee” from Mi Banco Mobile.
  • If you have a credit card, you must register it, and any other credit product, in the “Payments” section under “Add Payees” from Mi Banco Online or “Select a Payee” from Mi Banco Mobile.

If you have already used the TelePago Popular® system, Popular businesses will appear in your Mi Banco account.

Can I set up a recurring payment?

Yes. Through the payments section of Mi Banco Online (web version), payments to Popular products can be set up recurringly.

How soon are payments through Mi Banco transmitted?

If the recurring payments option (scheduled automated payments) is used for Popular credit cards, personal loans, auto loan, or  lease, and mortgages, the payment will be received on the date the transaction is effective (date you assigned).

Mi Banco will process the payment by 5:00 p.m. with the effective date selected, provided it is a business day. The debit to your account may take 2 to 5 business days.

How do I know what is the amount to pay?

For credit cards and mortgages, you must login to Mi Banco Online and access the “e-Bill + e-Statements History” section.

For personal loans, auto loans, or leases, you must select the name of the loan or lease on the home screen of Mi Banco Online. If you have any delays on your auto loan, you should call 787.792.9282.

Can I pay through Mi Banco Mobile?

Only if you have a Popular credit card you may make payments from Mi Banco Mobile for all your credit products. If you do not have a credit card but have a personal loan, auto loan, auto lease or mortgage loan, you must make payments through Mi Banco Online (web version).

How do I make payments through Mi Banco Mobile?

You can make payments through Mi Banco Mobile to any Popular credit product if you have a Popular credit card. If your account from another institution and the Popular credit product to be paid are already registered, just follow these steps:

  1. Access Mi Banco Mobile and select “Payments” in the menu.
  2. Select the account with which the payment will be made and the payee (credit product).
  3. Enter the payment amount.
  4. Select the date the payment will be made.
  5. Ready! Your payment was completed.

How do I make payments through Mi Banco Online?

If your account from another institution and the Popular credit product to be paid are already registered, just follow these steps:

  1. Access Mi Banco Online.
  2. In the menu (left side) select “Make Payments”.
  3. Select the payee (credit product) to be paid and enter the date, amount and frequency.
  4. Select the account with which the payment will be made.
  5. Ready! Your payment was completed.
